The Avalon team served as Tenant Improvement Contractor for the renovation of Tequila’s Mexican Restaurant in Thornton, Colorado. The property had previously operated as a national burger chain and needed to be repositioned in order to fit the Tequila’s brand. Architecture designs called for an entire overhaul of the exterior facade; the roof line was extended out along three sides requiring numerous caissons. The new facade incorporated arched openings, an elaborate entrance canopy, and significant exterior signage. A new 600-square-foot outdoor patio was added, and new stucco and roof systems were installed to the entire structure. Interior renovations included a new bar, new lighting, new seating arrangements, upgrades to the kitchen equipment, and updated restrooms. The restaurant opened to enormous fanfare, and Avalon is working with the client on additional locations.
This project was originally awarded to The Vertex Companies, LLC, and transferred to Avalon Construction in December 2025.
