The Avalon team was contracted to perform Tenant Improvement services for the renovation of the Great Wolf Lodge waterpark restroom facilities in Grapevine, Texas. Given that the hotel maintained 24/7 occupancy throughout the project duration, safety and protection of the facility guests were of prime importance. The 5,200SF renovation took place over a tightly condensed 4-week schedule, and temporary shower and restroom facilities were provided through construction duration.
The renovation called for the removal of the existing finishes throughout. Upon request, the Avalon team coordinated and performed the in-house asbestos survey prior to construction. Through discussions with the Client and experience, additional repairs uncovered from demolition, including deferred maintenance, were anticipated and mitigated without impacts to the project schedule. The Avalon team, alongside The Vertex Companies, reviewed and recommended multiple value engineering options through construction completion with the Client, which were not contemplated during initial design. Aside from the new toilet partitions, accessories, ceramic tile, and modern paint finishes specified throughout, the Vertex and Avalon team designed and built custom backlit LED mirrors at each vanity, which reflect on a value engineered split face stone wall. This project exemplified the value added when bringing on the Avalon team to run your next Tenant Improvement project.
This project was originally awarded to The Vertex Companies, LLC, and transferred to Avalon Construction in December 2025.
